灯心の喩えに、アイルランドの詩人ジョーゼフ・キャンベル Joseph Campbell (アイルランド語名ショーサヴ・マクカハウィール Seosamh Mac Cathmhaoil) を想います。彼には『燈心草』The Rush-Light (1906) という詩集があります。
神秘的な旋律に載せたアイルランドの歌 'Gartan Mother's Lullaby' や 'My Lagan Love' の詩を書いたのは彼です。
